Birds

Maplewood is home to woodpeckers, chickadees and owls throughout the year. In spring when wetlands open up, migratory birds such as herons, kingfishers, and swallows are viewed.

Fish Creek Preserve overlooks the Mississippi River Flyway, and spring and fall, pelicans and eagles can be seen migrating.

You will attract a variety of birds to your backyard if you provide habitat in which they can shelter, nest, and feed. Learn more about Feeding Birds in your backyard.
