Day Trips

Come and join us for one of our fabulous adult day trips! Sign up with friends for a fun getaway or on your own and meet new people. All day trips depart from and return to the Maplewood Parks and Recreation Office located at: 1902 County Road B East, Maplewood, MN 55109. Please park on the far end of the parking lot. In an effort to limit cancellations, full refunds are allowed until the registration deadline. A $20.00 cancellation fee will be charged for refunds after the trip deadline. Space is limited to 10 participants. *REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS TWO WEEKS PRIOR TO THE TRIP*

Set in Damon Runyon's mythical New York City, Guys & Dolls is an oddball romantic comedy. Gambler, Nathan Detroit, tries to find the cash to set up the biggest craps game in town while the authorities breathe down his neck; meanwhile, his girlfriend and nightclub performer Adelaide, laments that they've been engaged for fourteen years. Nathan turns to fellow gambler, Sky Masterson, for the dough, and Sky ends up chasing the straight-laced missionary, Sarah Brown, as a result. Guys & Dolls takes us from the heart of Times Square to the cafes of Havana, Cuba, and even into the sewers of New York City, but eventually everyone ends up right where they belong.. Sea Life Minnesota Aquarium is home to thousands of aquatic creatures, including a large collection of sharks, sea turtles, stingrays and freshwater fish.  The aquarium includes a 300 foot clear tunnel that will let you explore the underwater world while remaining dry.

Lunch will be provided at Firelake Restaurant inside the Radisson Blu Hotel
Lunch options: half sandwich & salad, half sandwich & soup, or half salad & soup.
Sandwich options: Bloomington Club or Bloomington B.L.T.
Soup options: chicken & wild rice soup, leek and mushroom, or heirloom tomato soup

ST. PAUL SAINTS BASEBALL GAME

Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jacks! Join us for an afternoon at the ball park to cheer on the St. Paul Saints as they take on the Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks. Maplewood Parks and Recreation will provide tickets and transportation to and from the stadium.  Cost is $35.00 (includes transportation and game ticket).

WINERY TOUR
AT CHATEAU ST. CROIX - St. Croix Falls, WI
THURSDAY, JULY 12

Come and enjoy a nice afternoon at the Chateau St. Croix Winery in beautiful St. Croix Falls Wisconsin. This private tour includes visiting the winery and barrel room. Learn how the process to make wine is done. A tour of the vineyard may also be included (weather permitting). After the tour, enjoy a private wine tasting in the Chateau’s art gallery including a cheese and cracker platter. We will be stopping in Taylors Falls or St. Croix Falls for an early lunch at a local restaurant (lunch is not included in the trip fee). Cost is $45.00 (includes transportation, winery tour, wine tasting, and snacks at the winery).

BREWERY TOUR

Enjoy lunch at the Surly Tap Room at noon. After lunch, experience how beer is made during a one hour tour through the Surly Brewing facility and enjoy a sampling of their different beers. From there we will head over to Summit Brewing to experience a tour of their facility, and see a different style of brewing beer. After the tour enjoy samples of Summit Beers. Cost is $30.00 (includes transportation, brewery tour entry, and samples). The option to purchase lunch will be available at the Surly Brewing Tap Room. *Closed toe footwear required*    *Walking tour will include stairs*
