Boaters Outlet - Revised

The owners of Boaters Outlet are proposing to build a new retail boat sales building and boat storage facility on the 2.4 acre vacant lot located at 2000 Rice Street. They currently lease space in Roseville and plan to relocate in Maplewood. The plans includes a 10,680 square foot metal building and exterior boat storage on the east end of the lot.

The project went before the Capitol Region Watershed district on December 21, 2016. The watershed district approved the project with conditions.

The project requires design review, a conditional use permit for exterior storage, and a conditional use permit (CUP) to construct a metal building in the Business Commercial zoning district.

The project went before the Community Design Review Board (CDRB) and Planning Commission on April 18, 2017, and both recommended approval.

On May 8, 2017, the city council approved the CUP for both exterior storage of boats and a metal building within the Business Commercial Zoning District, and design review.

REVISED:
Due to poor soils on the north side of the property, Mr. and Mrs. Kloskin have submitted revised plans proposing to relocate the building to the south side of the property. Changes to the site plan and building elevations require approval of the CDRB. The design review amendment went before the CDRB on September 19, 2017 and was approved.
