Residential Licenses

The office of the City Clerk issues various types of residential licenses and permits. License and permit requirements and fees vary. On the left side of the page is a list of the licenses and permits issued through the Citizen Services Department at the City of Maplewood. Please refer to the City Code for complete information on a specific license or permit.
  1. Block Party Permit

    A Block Party permit is required of any person or business hosting a an event which requires the entire or portion of the surrounding road to be closed.

  2. Chicken Permit

    A permit is required of any person keeping chickens on their single dwelling residential property. Roosters are prohibited, and restrictions are in place as to the number of chickens allowed on a property.

  3. Dog or Cat Permit

    A permit is required of any person keeping a dog or cat over 3 months of age. Restrictions are in place as to the number of dogs or cats allowed on a property.

  4. Home Alarm Systems

    A permit is required of any person who possesses, or subscribes to an alarm system which is intended to summon police, fire or emergency medical services.

  5. Motorized Recreational Vehicle License

    A license is required of any person who owns and operates a recreational motor vehicle on private property, except as allowed by City Code.

  6. Noise Control Waiver Request

    A permit is required of any person or company who engages in an activity that causes or creates excessive noise or disturbance between the hours of 7:00pm and 7:00am Monday through Saturday and all day Sunday, except as allowed by City Code.

  7. Small Kennel License

    A license is required of any person keeping up to 3 dogs over the age of 3 months of age on a property zoned farm residential or residential R-1.
