Meet Your Acupuncturists

About Leah Eichmiller - TUESDAY

I am an intuitive acupuncturist who helps people reconnect with themselves and the world around them through acupuncture. Through personalized sessions, I help people heal from illness, build their confidence, and reconnect with the world around them. I have dedicated my life to helping people navigate their lives with confidence, purpose, and clarity.

I’ve worked with people to naturally relieve acute and chronic pain, to alleviate the side effects of a cancer diagnosis, provide guidance during times of transition at work, and worked with women to find balance during hormonal changes like menopause and pregnancy.

More Information On Acupuncture

What is Traditional Chinese Medicine & Acupuncture?

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a system of medicine that has been practiced for over 3,000 years. It is based on the theory of balancing energy to maintain health and prevent disease. Disease arises when there is a blockage or deficiency of qi (pronounced “chee”) or energy, and TCM and acupuncture is used to remove the blockage, in order to restore balanced function in the body. Energy flows through meridians in the body, and acupuncture is the insertion of thin, stainless steel, single-use needles into points on those meridians to balance the flow of qi.

Does it Hurt?

No. The needles that are used are very fine, and their insertion relatively painless. Most patients feel nothing at all, or a small pricking sensation during insertion of the needles. Acupuncture needles are fine and solid, and are inserted into the skin quickly, unlike the much larger gauge, hollow hypodermic needles that most people fear.

After the needles are inserted, people report a range of sensations - tingling, pressure, warmth, dull aching, slight pinching or pulling. All of these sensations are normal, and in fact desired.

What Conditions Can Be Treated With Acupuncture?

The World Health Organization (WHO) currently recognizes more than 40 conditions that can be treated with acupuncture. However, it is important to remember that acupuncture treats the whole person, not just the condition.

Pain: This is one of the most common and well-known conditions that respond quickly to acupuncture treatments. It includes:
  • Back Pain (lower, middle or upper)
  • Dental Pain
  • Facial Pain
  • Headache
  • Joint Pain
  • Menstrual Pain
  • Migraine
  • Neck Pain
  • Post-operative Pain, etc.
