We strive to keep you informed of what's happening in our city. There are many ways for you to view events.
The Default View is with all of your calendars selected.
  • To view the available calendars, click Select Calendars. Put a check beside the calendars that you want to view and click View Selected Calendars and you will only see the items in the calendars you checked.
  • To View by Month click on the "<<" or ">>" buttons on the Monthly Calendar.
  • You can also enter a specific date to see the events for that day.
  • You still have the option of viewing a printable month and week’s calendar with your selection of calendars on it.

Nature Photo Tips I - Mar. 20
Join photographer Ellen Wold, regular contributor to the MN Weatherguide Calendar and 2009 Friends Calendar, to learn some tips for making better nature photos.* Learn about local photography clubs, and discover Maplewood’s other 13 natural areas! Bring your own camera and tripod. You may enter your best shots for the Friends of Maplewood Nature 2011 Calendar if you choose .There will be 11 $25 prizes and one $100 prize. Saturday, March 20 from 8:30 – 11 am. Pre-register by March 18.

Drop-In and Experience Nature - Mar. 23
Tuesdays 12:15-1:30 pm (November to March) 5 classes
Maplewood Nature Center (2659 7th St. East, Maplewood, MN. Join us for our “5” Drop-In and Experience Nature Classes that are offered at the Maplewood Nature Center in collaboration with the Early Childhood Family Education Program (ECFE). This unique class is designed for parents and children birth to 5 years old (before kindergarten enrollment) to just “drop-in” and enjoy the indoor exhibits, sort and match with nature activities, create with nature and other materials, and explore the nature trails. Wear comfortable clothing for indoor and outdoor activities.
No registration is necessary so if your schedule is open and you have some “free” time just show up at the Nature Center and pay at the door.

2010 Beginning Bird Identification Classes For Adults - Mar. 30
Birding experts Bonnie Sample and Chase Davies will teach us how to observe and identify these feather-covered creatures. Study common feeder birds to learn identification techniques, then practice on other winter birds. Subsequent sessions will focus on other groups of species as birds move into our area.*
