A Water Availability Charge (WAC) was established for the purpose of paying the costs associated with the installation of water reserve capacities for additional facilities to be connected to the system.
The
fee in 2013 for both domestic use and fire flows is $280.00 per unit in the city. A separate residential dwelling is designated as one unit.
The Engineering Division will determine the number of units to be charged for commercial and other installations.
The WAC fee is collected with the building permit fees for new construction. For owners of existing homes that wish to connect to city water, this $280 fee is paid in the Engineering Division before the connection is made.
