Maplewood Tree Program
Tree Preservation Ordinance
The city is dedicated to preserving and protecting trees. Trees are important to Maplewood! Urban trees increase property value, save energy, improve air quality, provide habitat for wildlife, and improve our quality of life in many other ways.  The city values its mature shade trees and has developed programs and a tree ordinance (refer to documents section below) to preserve and plant more trees, encourage healthy growth, educate the public about trees, and identify heritage trees.

Tree Purchase Rebate
In 2013, the City of Maplewood is offering a purchase rebate to residential and commercial property owners for planting some species of shade trees on landscaped property in Maplewood.  The Tree Purchase Rebate will encourage planting deciduous shade trees on private property.  It will also help property owners replace trees lost to Dutch Elm Disease or Oak Wilt. Click here for the Tree Rebate form.
