Fisher's Corner
About Fisher's Corner
On the shores of Kohlman Lake, Fisher’s Corner buffers the lake and the neighborhood from highway traffic. Venture into the site and you find yourself in a cathedral of oak and basswood trees. Though this small woodland is degraded ecologically, the trees are magnificent and you’ll be sure to see a jack-in-the-pulpit or two.
Nearly 2/3 of the preserve is cattail marsh and reed canary wetlands. The saturated soils here will deter all but the most intrepid botanist in search of a few scattered remnants of wet prairie and sedge meadow. Due to terrain and wetlands, there are currently no plans to put trails at the preserve.
