Food Establishment

Overview
The purpose of this division is to establish standards to protect the health, safety and the general welfare of the people of the city. These general objectives include the following:

  • Prevent food-borne illness.
  • Correct and prevent conditions that may adversely affect persons utilizing food establishments.
  • Provide minimum standards for the design, contraction, operation and maintenance of food establishments.
  • Meet consumer expectations to the quality and safety of food establishments.

Application Requirements
Please submit the following:

Inspections
Food Establishment license applications shall be submitted to the office of the City Clerk for review and comment. Applications will then be forwarded to the Environmental Health Official for approval or disapproval of the application and, when recommending disapproval, will furnish in writing their reasons therefore.


Expiration/Renewal
The annual Food Establishment license expires February 28 (29 leap year) of each year and may be renewed at that time.
