A motor vehicle repair shop is a shop which is in the business of making major or substantial repairs to the shell or body of an automobile, including frame-straightening, dent repair, and replacement or repair of parts.
A motor vehicle repair license required under this division shall not be issued by the clerk, unless the premises where the license is to be used is located within a district in the city that is properly zoned for such use.

You must submit the following:
- Motor Vehicle Repair license application
- Required license fee.
The license application submitted under this subdivision shall be submitted to the city clerk’s office. The city clerk’s office will contact the building planner for review and comment. The building planner shall recommend approval or disapproval of the application and, when recommending disapproval, furnish in writing their reasons therefore.
The annual Motor Vehicle Repair license expires July 31 of each year and may be renewed at that time.
